Glendale, CA (June 9, 2026) – The Armenian American Museum and Cultural Center of California hosted its 1st Annual Golf Classic, bringing together supporters, community leaders, business professionals, and golf enthusiasts for a memorable day of competition, camaraderie, and philanthropy at La Cañada Flintridge Country Club. Through sponsorship support and tournament registration fees, the inaugural event raised approximately $90,000 to advance the museum’s mission and ongoing development.

The 1st Annual Golf Classic celebrated the power of community while introducing the Armenian American Museum to new supporters and audiences. Filled with friendly competition, networking opportunities, exciting prizes, and shared purpose, the event brought together partners, donors, and friends of the museum for an unforgettable day on the course while establishing what promises to become a cherished annual tradition. The event provided an exciting opportunity to introduce the Armenian American Museum to a new audience of business professionals, community leaders, and golf enthusiasts, expanding awareness and support for the landmark cultural institution.

The inaugural event featured a full day of golf, networking, and community engagement on the course. Players were welcomed with breakfast upon arrival and enjoyed refreshments throughout the tournament before gathering for the post-tournament reception. Participants also competed in a series of on-course challenges, including the Putting Contest, Closest to the Pin Contest, and Hole-in-One Contest.

The day was enhanced by a variety of curated experiences, including on-course margaritas courtesy of Nuncamiente Tequila, beverages provided by Mission Liquor, and premium cigars courtesy of Española Cigars, which quickly became a favorite on the course.

Participants also received a commemorative museum goodie bag, which they filled with gifts and giveaways while making their way from hole to hole throughout the tournament. Featured items included premium golf polos, Patrón half bottles, and Pro V1 golf balls.

Following the tournament, golfers and guests gathered for a lively reception featuring appetizers, networking, and an exciting raffle. Prizes included two national Delta Air Lines tickets, an Apple Watch, foursomes at premier golf courses and country clubs, a private golf lesson, and a variety of curated gift baskets generously donated by community supporters and partners.

The reception also featured an awards presentation recognizing the tournament’s top-performing teams and contest winners. Participants were presented with premium commemorative trophies, capping off a memorable day of friendly competition and fellowship in support of the Armenian American Museum.

The success of the inaugural tournament was made possible through the leadership and dedication of the Golf Classic Committee, chaired by Nareg Mouradian and comprised of Avo Amirian, Alan Artunian, David Gharakhanian, Zaven Kazazian, Mary Khayat, Talin Minassian, and Arsine Torosyan. The committee worked closely with museum leadership, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters to help bring the event to life and establish a strong foundation for future Golf Classics.
